Prof. Adegoke is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians. He also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he had his undergraduate medical training. In addition, he has Doctor of Medicine degree from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and Doctor of Philosophy from Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is a member of many professional bodies including Sickle Cell Support Society of Nigeria, American Society of Haematology, Nigerian Society of Paediatric Oncology. He has won many national and international awards and scholarships including the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ) Scholarship by the Brazil National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) for his PhD program in Haematology in 2014.

Prof. Adegoke runs the paediatric haematology clinic and performs other clinical duties at the Wesley Guild Hospital Ilesa Unit of OAUTHC. He has about 100 peer-reviewed publications in both local and international journals, and he is a member of Editorial Board of Nigerian Journal of Health Sciences and BMC Paediatrics. His main area of research interest is in sickle cell disease with focus on the clinical, molecular and immunological phenotypes, roles of Vitamin D, influence of hydroxyurea on growth and development, transcranial Doppler flow velocity, etc. He is a Site Lead to many national and international SCD-related studies such as newborn screening for SCD, malaria in SCD, adoption of hydroxyurea treatment in Nigeria, etc.

Prof Adegoke is a former Vice-Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, OAU and had served the sister teaching hospital as the Physician-In-Charge of the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa Unit. He is actively involved in the training and supervision of theses/dissertations of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
