Dr. F. D. Akeredolu is a paediatric and child health lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife, Nigeria. He is a passionate paediatrician, a dedicated paediatric endocrinologist and a committed early career clinical researcher. He is a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and also has a clinical fellowship of Paediatric Endocrinology Training Centre for West Africa, Lagos state University Teaching Hospital, Lagos, Nigeria. He has a certificate in Leadership and Management in Health from University of Washington, USA.

He is the consultant-in-charge of paediatric endocrinology unit of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile – Ife where he provides specialist inpatient and outpatient care for children and adolescents with endocrine disorders including diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, metabolic bone diseases, disorders of sex differentiation, growth problems, obesity, disorders of puberty etc. His research interest includes vitamin d in children and adolescents, nutritional rickets, cardiometabolic health, diabetes mellitus in children and adolescents and thyroid disorders.

He is a member of local and international professional societies including Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Endocrinologists in Nigeria (SPAEN) and African Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Endocrinologists (ASPAE). He mentors students and resident doctors.
