Dr. Aderounmu is a Lecturer I at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria and a Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Nephrology at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC). She is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and a member of the West Africa College Physicians and the International Paediatric Nephrology Association. Dr Aderounmu has received several fellowships and awards, including the Nigerian Malaria Modelling Fellowship (Cohort 1, 2023) and a Genome Sequencing Bioinformatics Course (South Africa, 2023). Her research focuses on paediatric kidney diseases, neonatal acute kidney injury, and the development of automated predictive systems for hypertension in children and adolescents. She has eight peer-reviewed publications and has attracted multiple TETFund research grants as part of multidisciplinary teams. Dr Aderounmu also runs the Paediatric Nephrology Clinic at OAUTHC, Ile-Ife, where she provides specialised care for children with renal disorders.
